LARKANA: A Rangers soldier was martyred and two others injured on Saturday when a blast targeting the paramilitary forces hit their vehicle in Larkana. Utv Pakistan Report
According to our correspondent, the incident occurred at Larkana’s Mirokhan Chowk where an explosion occurred near a patrolling vehicle of Rangers.
Police and rescue officials said two Rangers men and two passersby were injured. They were rushed to Chandka medical hospital where one of the wounded soldiers breathed his last.
Initial reports said the bomb was fitted to a bicycle; however, it was not clear whether it was a remote-controlled bomb or a time device.
Further investigations were underway as Rangers condoned off the area and started search operation.
Such attacks against Rangers are rare in Sindh where most of the paramilitary troops have been deployed on border with Punjab and Balochistan. The soldiers also take part in operations against criminals and banned outfits of militants and nationalists.
The blast came at least two weeks after Director General Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar said the paramilitary forces are contemplating to extend Karachi’s anti-criminal crackdown to interior of Sindh.
