Chinese premier Li due in Islamabad Monday for a four-day visit

Premier Li Qiang of China’s State Council is set to visit Pakistan from October 14-17, 2024. During his four-day trip, he will meet with Pakistan’s leaders and attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government.
Accompanying Premier Li will be ministers and officials from various Chinese government departments. They will discuss Pakistan-China relations, focusing on economic and trade cooperation, as well as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Regional and global issues will also be on the agenda. Premier Li will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, parliamentary leaders, and senior military officials in Pakistan.
Additionally, he will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s meeting in Islamabad. This visit highlights the strong partnership between Pakistan and China.
It will provide an opportunity for both countries to reaffirm their support for each other on important issues, enhance the development of CPEC, and maintain regular communication on regional and global matters.
