CJP’s policy to reduce number of pending cases starts yielding results

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi’s policy to reduce the number of pending cases in the superior court is showing results, with over 377 cases being resolved in just one week.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has provided details on the filing and resolution of cases within a week.
According to data from the Supreme Court, 302 cases were filed and 679 cases were heard in a week.
Furthermore, more than 377 cases were resolved within the same week. Specifically, on November 5, 38 cases were filed and 220 cases were resolved.
The data also shows that out of the cases filed on November 5, more than 182 cases were resolved.
It is worth mentioning that the number of pending cases in the supreme court has decreased to 59,435, while the total number of pending cases is 59,782.
