Four judges at the Lahore High Court (LHC) were targeted with threatening letters on Wednesday, mirroring a recent incident at the Islamabad High Court.

The recipients of these letters were Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Shahid Bilal, Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, and Justice Alia Neelam. In response to these threats, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police have heightened security measures at the LHC.

Additionally, an employee of the courier company responsible for delivering the letters has been detained for further investigation.

The previous day, eight judges at the Islamabad High Court also received threatening letters containing a toxic substance, prompting the involvement of the CTD police. A case has been initiated against unidentified suspects for their involvement in threatening the judges at the Islamabad High Court. The safety and security of our judiciary is of utmost importance, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the protection of our judges.
