ISLAMABAD: As the first of Ramazan began in the country on Tuesday, prices of fruits were also increased in the federal capital.
According to details, watermelons are being sold for Rs 25 per kilogram whereas their official rate is Rs 20 per kilogram. Meanwhile, bananas are being sold for Rs 150/kg whereas their official price per kilogram have been placed at Rs 110/kg.
Meanwhile, melons are being sold in the market for Rs 60/kg whereas its official price for selling has been put at between Rs 20-40.
Peaches are being sold for Rs 300-350/kg whereas their official price is Rs 150/kg. Sindhri mango is being sold for Rs 200/kg while its official price is Rs 130/kg.
As Ramazan approaches and the demand for fruits and other edible items increase, vendors and sellers start to increase prices of products so as to earn more profits.
