ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday has stated that incessant efforts were made to oust him from politics but masses continued to re-elect him.
He was addressing party’s General Council meeting at Convention Center in Islamabad.
While paying tribute to lawmakers who passed Electoral Reforms Bill 2017, Sharif said that he is giving this black law back to Musharraf today (Tuesday) who introduced it to curtail his entrance in politics.
“I served nation cordially”, he said while adding that, “I was ousted merely on basis of Iqama as no wrongdoing was found in Panamagate”.
Nawaz stated that he was ousted over not receiving salary from his son.
He urged to contemplates on reasons behind Dhaka debacle while questioning at the same time that how would country progress in such atmosphere.
Nawaz lashed out at doctrine of necessity and urged to keep on changing with current trends. “Those who tore apart constitution remained honest while elected representatives were sent home”, deplored Nawaz.
He apprised attendants that 12 questions posed during lawyers’ convention in Lahore remained unanswered.
