The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued the seventh alert on Saturday regarding cyclone Asna, which is currently 300 kilometers away from Karachi.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) also issued an alert about cyclonic storm ‘Asna’, which is situated about 300 kilometers southwest of Karachi and 300 kilometers southeast of Gwadar.

The cyclone is moving towards the west and southwest, bringing rain to Karachi. Wind speeds of 60-80 km per hour are expected along the coast of Pakistan and in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and Dadu districts.

Areas likely to experience heavy rainfall include Karachi division, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Alla Yar, Matiari, Jamshoro, and Dadu.

Additionally, Hub, Lasbella, Awaran, Keach, and Gwadar districts in Balochistan may also face strong winds and heavy showers by Sunday night.

Fishermen in Sindh and Balochistan are advised to avoid going out to sea for the next few days. Severe rainfall has caused issues at Karachi airport, leading to delays and diversions of several flights. A flight from Doha had to be diverted to Muscat due to the weather conditions.
