LHC issues written verdict of Election Amendment Act, summons attorney general

LHC report reveals 59 cases against Imran Khan in Punjab

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has released the written verdict of the Election Amendment Act.

Justice Shakeel Ahmad of the LHC presided over the case brought by Advocate Azhar Siddque and issued a two-page written verdict on the Election Amendment Act.

As per the written judgement, notices were sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the federal government, and all political parties.

The court has called for the Attorney General to provide assistance on August 30.

Justice Ahmad mentioned that the applicant informed the court about the Supreme Court’s verdict on reserved seats.

The petitioner argued that Parliament cannot overturn a decision made by a bench of members through an amendment in the act and requested for the amendment to be declared null and void.
