Lifting of ban on PIA flights echoes in UK parliament

British MP Yasmin Qureshi, who is of Pakistani descent, has requested the UK government to lift the ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights in the UK.
She wrote a letter to the UK Secretary of Transport addressing this issue. Qureshi pointed out that the European Union Aviation Agency has already removed its restrictions on PIA and urged the UK Department for Transport to do the same.
She emphasized that allowing PIA flights would help British Pakistanis who currently face difficulties due to the lack of direct services.
Qureshi also mentioned that lifting the ban would make it easier for families to transport the remains of their loved ones to Pakistan.
She commended Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority for its role in lifting restrictions in Europe and called for similar action in the UK.
