NDMA predicts light rainfall in federal capital on Monday, Tuesday

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has predicted cloudy weather with a chance of light rain in the Potohar region, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attock, and northeastern parts of Punjab on December 23-24 (Monday-Tuesday).

According to the NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) weather forecast for December 21-26, most parts of Punjab are expected to have cold and dry conditions.

There may be smog and fog in the plains until December 26, 2024, which could reduce visibility and affect travel. In Balochistan and Sindh, the weather will be cold and dry during the forecast period, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience cold weather with isolated rainfall in some areas.

Snowfall is expected in the hilly regions of the province. Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are likely to have cold weather, with isolated rain and snowfall in the hilly areas.

The NDMA has advised local authorities, emergency responders, and the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this time.

Residents of northern and hilly areas are encouraged to be cautious while traveling due to slippery roads and reduced visibility. People in regions affected by smog should limit outdoor exposure and take protective measures in low-visibility conditions.
