Need to start dialogue process in Kashmir: Mehbooba Mufti

Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Monday that the Centre needs to restart the dialogue process in Kashmir that has witnessed a month-long spell of violence, with more than 50 people dead and nearly 2,000 injured.  Utv Pakistan Report
The comments came after her meeting with home minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi, in the presence of defence minister Manohar Parrikar, minister of state for PMO Jitendra Singh, national security adviser Ajit Doval, home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and joint secretary (Kashmir) in the home ministry Gyanesh Kumar.
“Those who died in protests are our own people. We need to start the process of dialogue again,” said Mehbooba.

This is Mehbooba’s first visit to Delhi after the unrest in the Valley that began after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
Mehbooba said the central government should take forward the process of dialogue initiated when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister.
“PM Modi has come with huge mandate. He should take forward the dialogue process of Vajpayee ji,” said Mehbooba.Utv-Line
