KARACHI: Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi, Prof Mohammad Ajmal Khan on Friday has clarified that there is no wing of terrorists in the university.
Holding a press conference, VC said that no decision has been taken regarding sharing students’ record to intelligence agencies.
We are ready to cooperate with security departments, assured Prof Ajmal.
The VC said Intelligence agencies didn’t give any information about terrorist activities and that the student union should be restored as it will help in curbing terrorism.
He continued that Pakistan’s biggest varsity cannot function in perilous circum, adding it’s not our responsibility to provide security.
Earlier, talking to Dunya News, KU Vice Chancellor Prof Mohammad Ajmal Khan vowed to prepare strategy in collaboration with the security institutions.
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani had sent a letter to university’s VC, stating that the news regarding sharing students’ record to intelligence agencies will create unrest among them.
Rabbani said that there is a need of basic amendments in the curriculum and also urged the management to take relevant action in this regard.
