ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Pakistan was the country which had been most affected by terrorism around the world.
In another statement, the FO spokesperson said that Pakistan and the United States’ ties were not limited. He said that there were ups and downs in every relationship.
“The United States attaches great importance to its ties with Pakistan,” said Nafees Zakaria, the FO spokesperson.
Regarding India, he said that Pakistan wished for meaningful and productive talks with its neighbour.
“India should stop blaming Pakistan and come to the negotiating table,” he said.
He also said that the China-Pakistan Economic Project was a developing project which would benefit everyone.
“Pakistan’s request to be included in the Nuclear Supplier’s Group is based on merit,” he said.
When asked about the FIR that had been registered after the American drone strike, Zakaria said:-
“Every citizen has the right, by law, to register FIR upon grievance.”
His statement comes at a time when Pakistan is undergoing a tense relationship with the United States of America, after the latter’s drone strike in Noshki which killed Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour. While the US had stated that Mansour was not in favour of talks and was attacking America and its allies, Pakistan stated that the drone strike had negatively impacted the Afghan peace process.
