Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has advised President Asif Ali Zardari to call for a joint session of Parliament.

The session is proposed to take place on December 17, where eight bills, including one about registering religious seminaries, are expected to be passed.

Consultations between the government and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) are ongoing regarding the new madrassah registration bill. President Zardari had previously raised objections to the madrassah bill and sent it back for review.
