SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khurshid Shah on Saturday has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) cannot escape from the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision.
Talking to media in Sukkur, Khurshid Shah said that Sharif family doesn’t have any option other than accepting the court’s verdict. He said its democratic right of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to elect their opposition leader.
No friend and enemy in politics, he added.
Talking on the issue of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman’s appointment, Shah said no final decision has been taken so far. He continued that how Imran Khan can ask Nawaz Sharif to follow court’s decision when he himself doesn’t act on it.
Earlier, SC dismissed all three review petitions against its verdict in the Panama Papers case and maintained the decision of disqualifying former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for violating Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution.
“For reasons to be recorded later all these review petitions are dismissed,” a five-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan stated in the short verdict.
However, Sharif family, Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had filed three separate appeals in the apex to review the Panamagate verdict.
