KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) top-leadership shall convene in Dubai in order to settle the matter of the extension of the authority granted to Rangers despite directions from federal government and similar demands made from various sectors of the public, Utv Pakistan Report
The authority that the Rangers enjoyed in the province expired five days ago whereas Sindh government did not extend the powers despite increasing pressure from the federal government. Earlier, traders’ union gave an ultimatum of 72 hours to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah to extend the authority of Rangers. However, Sindh government turned a deaf ear towards the demand and dismissed it.
PPP’s top leaders were summoned in Dubai to be part of an important meeting in order to make a decision regarding the extension of the authority of Rangers. The leaders who reached Dubai included PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Faryal Talpur, Qaim Ali Shah and others whereas party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also headed for Dubai from London.
While addressing the media before leaving for Dubai, Qaim Ali Shah said that the decision regarding the extension in the powers of Rangers shall be made after consultation among the party leaders.
Experts state that PPP may come to a decision over the policy of give and take.
