PTI conditions Oct 15 protest cancellation on meeting with Imran Khan

PTI seeks more time from ECP in intra-party poll case

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to cancel its planned protest on October 15 in Islamabad only if they are able to meet with the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

The PTI’s core committee held an emergency meeting, chaired by Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja, where they discussed the possibility of postponing the protest due to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference.

Some members, like Shahbaz Gill and Khalid Khurshid, were against the delay. The core committee members believe that the government’s restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan are a deliberate conspiracy.

They are also concerned about Khan’s health and have made it clear that the protest’s cancellation depends on meeting him.

The committee has decided that if a meeting with the founder is arranged by October 14, the protest will be postponed. However, if no meeting takes place, a significant protest will proceed on October 15.
