PTI core committee rejects Hammad Azhar’s resignation
The core committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) met on Friday and decided not to accept the resignation of Hammad Azhar, the party’s Punjab president.
The committee also requested PTI founder Imran Khan not to accept the resignation of Azhar. The core committee further said that Hammad Azhar himself should review the issue of resignation.
The meeting was chaired by PTI chief Barrister Gohar Ali and attended by Senator Shibli Faraz, Shoaib Shaheen, Sheikh Waqas, and other leaders.
Hammad Azhar had recently announced his resignation from the position of Punjab party chairman, stating that leadership roles should be given to those closely associated with Imran Khan.
He expressed his loyalty to Khan but mentioned difficulties in visiting Adiala Jail and disagreements with certain party decisions. Azhar emphasized the importance of following merit and integrity, leading to his decision to step down.
