PTI prepares draft for demands for talks with government

PTI seeks more time from ECP in intra-party poll case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad has finalized a list of demands for negotiations with the government. PTI sources have compiled a list of over 5,000 political detainees, with former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s name at the top.

PTI plans to focus on releasing political prisoners and forming a judicial commission to investigate events on May 9 and November 26.

The proposed judicial commission should consist of three senior judges from the Supreme Court. This development comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to create a government negotiation committee, suggested by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

The committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Chaudhry Salik Hussain. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has welcomed the government’s committee formation as a positive step towards dialogue.
