LAHORE: The government of Punjab decided on Wednesday to retain subsidy on fertilizers.
However, the federal government had made a call earlier, two days ago, to end subsidy on fertilisers but the government of Punjab decided otherwise. The good news for farmers was announced today which marks great significance for people working in the agriculture sector of Pakistan s largest province.
A spokesperson of agriculture department said that Punjab has kept a large resource of fertilizer sacks at low price. The cost of DAP sack is PKR 2500 while that of urea is around PKR 1250 to 1400 only.
