Trump completes swing state sweep by taking Arizona

Donald Trump has won the state of Arizona in the recent US presidential election, according to US TV networks. This victory completes Trump’s sweep of all seven swing states.
After four days of counting in Arizona, CNN and NBC projected that Trump had secured its 11 electoral votes by defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
In the 2020 election, outgoing President Joe Biden narrowly won Arizona, leading to Trump’s defeat after his first term in office.
Trump’s comeback, which also included winning the popular vote by around four million votes, has surprised the Democratic Party.
The Republicans have regained control of the Senate and are likely to retain a majority in the House of Representatives due to support from white working-class voters and a significant share of Hispanics. CNN has reported Republican victories in 213 House seats, with 218 needed for a majority.
NBC shows Republicans with 212 seats and Democrats with 204. Trump also won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, and Georgia in the presidential race.
The White House announced that Biden will meet with Trump at the White House on Wednesday, following a tradition that Trump did not follow after the 2020 election.
Despite Trump’s unconventional behavior, Biden will attend the upcoming ceremony. The meeting between Biden and Trump will take place in the Oval Office, signaling Trump’s imminent return to power.
Trump, a 78-year-old former reality TV star, won by wider margins in the recent election, despite facing a criminal conviction, two impeachments, and accusations of being a fascist. Exit polls showed that voters’ top concerns were the economy and inflation, which rose during Biden’s presidency due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
