MINGORA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday visited Swat’s Mingora area and said Tabdeeli (change) is yet to come to the area.
The prime minister was addressing a public gathering, where he said that the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) will bring true change in Mingora. “If people had not been deceived in 2013, tabdeeli would have been brought to the area earlier,” he said.
Prime Minister Nawaz announced a number of development projects in the region. He said a women’s university campus in Mingora and a university for Shangla will be established, along with a technical training institute for the youth.
The premier also announced building of grid stations for Kambal and Matta districts. “We promise that in 2018 there will be electricity as well as gas in the area,” he said, adding that during the last three years no development has taken place in Mingora.
Nawaz said that National Highway Authority has been directed to construct a 133km expressway from Chak Dara till Kalam on Lahore Motorway’s pattern. “Saido Sharif airport will be made functional again and flights will go to Dubai and Jeddah,” he added.
Prime Minister Sharif said he will visit Swat before the 2018 General Election and currently his visit was not regarding the next elections.
