Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi on Sunday claimed that as many as 40000 presiding officers were taken hostages in General Elections 2013.

He made these remarks in Dunya News programme Tonight with Moeed Pirzada.

On rigging in General Elections 2018, the senior PPP leader stated that not even a single polling agent was pushed out of the polling booths. He further added that PTI was confident of securing 10 to 11 seats of National Assembly (NA) from Karachi. He said, “The masses of Karachi has expressed full confidence in PTI” while lauding efforts of police and rangers in bringing peace to the metropolis.

On question about approaching International Monetary Fund, Alvi reiterated that PTI has not ruled out any options to re-function the crippled economy. While rubbishing U.S. concerns, Alvi termed US secretary of state s remarks absurd.

On revenue target, Alvi termed reforms in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) indispensable.
