ISLAMABAD: Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday has said that the announcement of final Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket holders for upcoming elections will take some time.
Responding to Supreme Court’s decision, Nawaz Sharif said that he has not submitted any plea in the apex court for permission to travel London to meet his ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
I only requested accountability court but it was rejected, however, I will think of going to London during Eid holidays, he added.
The ex-PM also avoided question related to former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s statement.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif refrained from commenting on former president Pervez Musharraf’s return to Pakistan.
Earlier, Supreme Court (SC) had granted one-month extension to accountability court for the hearing of NAB references against Sharif family.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar had directed NAB court judge Justice Mohammad Bashir to complete the hearing as early as possible as the accused and the people are in immense tension.
He had also allowed ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to meet Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is undergoing a treatment for cancer in London.
