KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday approved Naqeebullah encounter case’s suspect former SSP Malir Rao Anwar’s plea seeking B-Class facilities in jail.

Anwar appeared before the court whereas the investigating officer in the case SSP central Dr Rizwan also attended the hearing.

The court remarked that verdict over Rao Anwar’s plea to transfer his residence into sub-jail has been reserved by the Sindh High Court (SHC). “We will announce the decision over the petition once it has been declared by the SHC,” said the ATC judge.

The court adjourned the hearing till June 14.

Naqeebullah’s father Khan Muhammad has filed a petition against Anwar’s sub-jail plea. He adopted stance that as Rao Anwar is a murderer he should be shifted to jail.

Declaring his residence as a sub-jail is illegal while no notification has been issued by the interior ministry in this regard.
