QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General on Friday has submitted report over target killing of Hazara community members in Supreme Court (SC) Quetta registry.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that he doesn’t have words to condemn such a brutal crime and that he had to take suo motu notice of it. We are responsible to provide protection to the Hazara community, he added.
CJP further directed all the agencies to submit report on how this heinous crime has soared in Balochistan.
Hazara community had ended their four-day long protest and hunger strike against the unabated target killings in Quetta, after meeting Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The leaders of the community had met Gen Bajwa in Quetta and informed him about their concerns over the spate of target killings.
The top army official assured the community that while nothing can compensate the loss of dear ones, those who have targeted them shall suffer twice as much.
The Hazara community had demanded that the government should unveil all the target killers and arrest them along with restoring peace and stability in Quetta.
