KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Thursday has announced to resume process of holding rallies across the Punjab after Senate elections that is due on March 3.
According to party sources, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujrat, Sargodha, Okara and other adjoining cities will be covered in first phase. Party membership procedure will also be sped up.
Bilawal has sought final schedule of the public gatherings from the Punjab wing of PPP and directed them to get ready to exercise political muscles in the province.
In recently held Lodhran NA-154 by-election, Ali Mirza Baig of had secured 3,148 votes while Pir Iqbal Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won the polls with 1,16,590 votes.
It is to be mentioned here that Mian Raza Rabbani, Maula Bux Chandio, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, and Murtaza Wahab from PPP are among those 33 applicants applied for Senate elections.
