LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday granted time to the federal government to submit its reply in case pertaining to change in nomination papers.
The LHC judge Justice Ayesha A Malik was conducting hearing of the case.
The counsel of the petitioner while presenting his arguments said that the members of the parliament has not right to make changes in the nomination papers as this is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The court asked the government lawyer under what law the government has made changes in the nomination papers to which the lawyer appealed the court for time to submit reply.
The ECP representative told the court that new nomination papers can be prepared in seven days to which the court gave time to the government to submit reply until May 29.
