LAHORE: Candidates disqualified by the Election Commission of Pakistan will field their covering candidates for General Elections 2018.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate for NA-67 constituency, Fawad Chaudhry’s nomination papers were rejected for not mentioning all assets and difference of his name in papers and CNIC. He has nominated his brother Faisal Chaudhry as his covering candidate.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s nomination papers were rejected for NA-57 constituency due to tempering and for not revealing all assets. His covering candidate is his wife Samina Shahid.
Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) candidate from PS-27 Khairpur, Manzoor Wassan was disqualified for being iqama holder. His covering candidate is his son-in-law Munawwar Wasan.
PPP candidate Nisar Ahmad Khoro’s nomination papers were also rejected from PS-11 Larkana for hiding name of his third wife in nomination papers. Khoro’s covering candidate is his daughter Nida Khoro.
PTI’s Sardar Ghulam Abbas candidate from NA-64 Chakwal constituency was disqualified for being tax defaulter and misinformation. His covering candidate Sardar Aftab was also disqualified however, PTI decided to file an appeal in the Supreme Court on this matter.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Daniyal Aziz from NA-77 Narowal was disqualified in contempt of court case. Danoyal Aziz s covering candidates are his father Anwar Aziz and wife Mahnaz Akbar.
