QUETTA: A deadlock between the Balochistan government and the opposition persisted over the name of caretaker chief minister, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Last three meetings between Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and opposition leader Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal to select a mutual candidate for the slot of caretaker chief minister of the province ended in vain.
Sources said that the two leaders are scheduled to meet again for the fourth time today (Wednesday) to reach a consensus on the name of caretaker chief minister.
On the other hand, opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal is busy in lobbying for his proposed candidate Ashraf Jahangir for the post of caretaker chief minister. Sources said that the opposition is also demanding a large share in the caretaker cabinet.
Meanwhile, the last session of Balochistan Assembly is scheduled to be held at 3:00pm today.
