ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday constituted central scrutiny cell for thorough scrutiny of nomination papers, reported Dunya News.
According to details, the ECP secretary will head the bench. The bench comprising four teams will work 24/7. ECP will begin receiving nomination papers from today (Monday).
The cell will ensure thorough scrutiny of nomination papers under Article 62 and Article 63. The bench will collect information pertaining to dual nationality, non-payment of loans and income tax from competent authorities including National Database and Registration Authority, Federal Investigation Agency and Federal Board of Revenue.
The cell will also act as coordination centre between returning officers and authorities concerned.
It is worth mentioning that general elections 2018 for Lower House of the Parliament and all provincial assemblies will be held on July 25.
