LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced National Accountability Court (NAB) for serving legal notice to former premier Nawaz Sharif to explain the alleged transfer of $4.9bn to Indian exchequer.
Speaking to media, he said that the entire nation is shocked over the notice whereas State Bank and World Bank have also denied the accusation.
Punjab CM urged Chairman NAB to take notice of the matter. “The NAB is quite prominent in Punjab while it is nowhere to be seen in other provinces,” he criticized.
Commenting on PML-N stalwart Chaudhry Nisar, he maintained, “When it comes to praising others, he acts like a miser. He possesses a significant position in the party. Nisar should wither away the differences while unifying with the party leadership. He is ranked among the senior leaders of PML-N.”
Sharif asserted that those leaving PML-N are independent birds.
Talking about the attack on interior minister Ahsan Iqbal, Punjab Chief Minister stressed that the incident became a mockery for the country.
“All the stake holders have to unite for a brighter future; Zaradri and Bani Gala are both alike. The accountability bureau of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been shut down. The nation will give response to Imran Khan in General Elections 2018,” he added.
