Rangers sepoy Shahid Sial embraced martyrdom and 14 others were injured when some unknown militants attacked a check post in Larkana district on Saturday morning.

According to BDS, the militants attacked the check post of paramilitary troops Rangers with a remote controlled device in Larkana, a district located in the country’s south Sindh province, and fled the scene.

Police said that the explosive materials were fixed on a bicycle parked near the check post of Rangers.

The injured including four Rangers personnel and nine civilians were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Police cordoned off the area, following the attack, and kicked off a search operation in the surrounding area during which nine suspects were arrested.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Speaking to media after attending Shahid Sial’s funeral prayers, Major General Bilal Akbar said that terrorist will be chased and hunted in every part of the country.

To a question, he said terrorists used two bicycles to targeted the paramilitary Rangers. Similar explosive material was used in the past attacks as well.

The attack could be an attempt to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, he added.

Earlier today, the newly elected Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, condemned the attack and sought a report from the concerned officials.

The incident took place four days after two gunmen opened fire on army’s pick-up truck in Saddar area in the southern city of Karachi, claiming lives of Lance Naik Abdul Razzaq and Sepoy Khadim Hussain.

Both were shot in the head and face.

The law enforcement agencies launched a major crackdown on militants and criminals in the city, which is the country’s economic hub, in 2013 and levels of violence have dropped drastically since then.Utv-Line
