KARACHI: Father of slain Intezar Ahmed has accused Anti-Car Lifting Cell’s (ACLC) former chief SSP Muqaddas Haider of involvement in his son’s target killing.
He has demanded to bring forward the CCTV footage of the incident.
Intezar was killed in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on January 13 as he drove a car in the night with a girl, Madiha, sitting next to him. Probe revealed that at least 13 bullets were fired out of which three hit the vehicle. The boy fatally received one of the bullets on his head following which the car crashed into a road divider and ended up on the wrong way.
Reportedly, Madiha walked off the car after the incident instead of reporting it to the police, raising doubts.
New twist in the case
The entry of a second girl named Laila into the incident has brought a twist in the case.
Laila first met Intezar in Defence Chota Bukhari area. Her family resides in US and she is a friend of an influential Sindh MPA for the past four years.
The MPA has also provided a flat to Laila in Bot Basin area. She also shares close terms with a senior police official and was in contact with Anti-Car Lifting Cell’s (ACLC) former chief SSP Muqaddas Haider’s PSO Bilal Haider.
Sources claim that Intezar’s friendship with Laila resulted in his death. His close aides revealed that a police officer and political personality were extremely angry over Intezar’s acquaintance with Laila.
Madiha Kyani was also made Intezar’s friend under a fixed plan as she befriended him only 10 days before the incident through his neighbour Salman. Madiha then met Intezar four times during the span.
Madiha had also advised the slain youth to stay away from Laila but he refused. Intezar’s close friends had seen him, Laila and Madiha drinking ice in Defence club few days before the incident.
CTD has found significant material from Intezar’s phone record and has begun search for Laila.
