Justice For Khadija: Twitter floods with support for Khadija following LHC’s ‘shocking’ verdict

The acquittal of Shah Hussain, who had been slapped an initial 7-year sentence that had been reduced to 5 years last year for stabbing 24-year-old law student Khadija Siddiqui, has stirred social media with calls being made demanding justice.

On microblogging website, Twitter, #JusticeForKhadija remained the top trend following the Lahore High Court’s verdict on Monday that acquitted Hussain.

People from all walks of life including politicians, activists, journalists and celebrities took to the social media platform to offer their support to stabbing victim Khadija and demand justice.

In 2016, Khadija petitioned the court that Hussain had stabbed her 23 times on Davis Road in Lahore as she waited to pick her younger sister from school. The case had received much media attention following socila media outcry followingthe incident.
