ISLAMABAD Khursheed shah, the leader of the opposition National Assembly, predicted on Wednesday that the meeting between the Prime Minister (afternoon) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Pakistan’s Chief Justice (CJP) Mian Saqib nisar will be held. Counterproductive.
In a talk with the media in Islamabad on Wednesday, leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party stated that meetings between the heads of state’s two major agencies are routine.
However, the meeting between PM and CJP will prove to be more harmful to the country than to be fruitful, he added.
Prior to this, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held a very ordinary two-hour CJP meeting in the backyard of the Islamabad Building of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
A statement issued by the SC Public Relations Officer stated that the meeting was arranged by PM Abbasi through the Attorney General’s (AG) request. The meeting was held in a pleasant environment.
The statement said: “The Chief Judge assured the Prime Minister that he will study the matter. Such lawsuits should be quickly followed.
“The Prime Minister also told the Chief Justice that the Common Interest Committee (CCI) has approved the water conservancy policy, which will help achieve the Chief Justice’s efforts in this regard.”
