FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Friday assured party workers and supporters of a resounding victory in upcoming general elections.
Addressing party workers in Miani town of Faisalabad, PML-N leader said that her party’s government faced all threats and conspiracies to complete its five year term and now its voters’ turn to bring it back to power.
“Don’t be afraid, you, with your vote, are more powerful than conspirators. Do come out in large numbers and vote of Lion (PML-N’s electoral symbol),” said Maryam Nawaz.
She was of the view that “conspirators” ousted her father, former premier Nawaz Sharif, over iqama for he did not bow before them and resign.
“They ousted him over an iqama (work/residence permit), then disqualified him but couldn’t decrease his (Nawaz Sharif) popularity … when all else failed, they dubbed him a traitor over Mumbai attacks statement,” said Maryam Nawaz, adding that the conspirators forgot that former ISI chief had written a whole book full of such controversial claims.
She asked if Durrani, the former ISI chief, who wrote a book with his Indian counterpart will ever be dubbed a traitor.
“Will he be dubbed a traitor? will a National Security Committee meeting be called upon his claims? will a joint statement be issued?,” asked Maryam Nawaz.
