KARACHI: Ashfaq Mangi, a member of the Sindh Assembly, on Monday announced to join the Pak Sarzameen party (PSP), parting his ways with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
He announced his decision to quit the MQM and join the PSP during a press conference where former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal and other leaders of the MQM dissident group were also present.
Speaking to media, Mustafa Kamal said: “We are not here to take power from anybody. We are here to transform lives of people and to establish peace.” He said hundreds of MQM workers have joined his party and many more were willing to join hands with him.
Mangi, a senior leader of the MQM and a member of the party’s main decision making body, was elected Member of the Sindh Assembly from PS-127 constituency.
