With the stage all set for what is being termed the biggest political battle of the country, an intriguing bit of information has emerged ahead of the NA 120 by-elections. None of the candidates who claim to be the electorate’s representatives will be able to cast votes in the contested constituency today.
According to Dunya News, none of the candidates contesting for the NA 120 constituency of Lahore, including Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and Dr. Yasmin Rashid, are registered voters of the contested seat of the National Assembly.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s candidate Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is a registered voter of NA 119 while Dr. Yasmin Rashid of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has had her vote transferred to NA 128.
While Pakistan Peoples Party’s candidate Faisal Mir and Milli Muslim League’s Yaqoob Sheikh are not registered voters of NA 120, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ziauddin Ansari and ANP’s Ameer Bahadur Hoti are registered voters in NA 119 and NA 130 respectively.
