LONDON: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will leave London after four hours and are expected to reach Pakistan tomorrow evening.
According to sources, the PML-N supremo and his daughter will leave for Pakistan today at about 1am night on a private airline flight EY-0018.
Sharif and his daughter will make a brief stay in Abu Dhabi for seven hours will reach Lahore Friday (tomorrow) evening at 7pm.
Talking to media the ex-PM said that no one would return in the circumstances they were returning, adding that they were returning because of Pakistan and its people.
“Maryam Nawaz could have stayed in London but she is also leaving her ailing mother who is fighting for her life,” he said and added he believe nation would support them.
Sharif went on to say that he is not afraid of any punishment, adding that the history will prove Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz had done nothing wrong.
Speaking about his wife, the PML-N supremo said that his wife Begum Kulsoomn Nawaz opened her eyes after one month but wasn’t indentifying them.
Meanwhile, the plan to arrest former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had been finalized.
As many as 22 officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and 100 Elite Commandos will be deputed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The arrangements for the shifting of the Avenfield reference convicts to Adiala jail through helicopter have been completed, while a letter has also been dispatched to accountability court (AC) judge Muhammad Bashir to reach Adiala jail on July 13.
Nawaz Sharif is currently in London along with his daughter visiting his ailing wife Kalsoom Nawaz, who is under treatment at London’s Harley Street Clinic.
Last Friday, an accountability court in Pakistan sentenced Nawaz Sharif to 10 years, his daughter Maryam to seven years and son-in-law, Muhammad Safdar to one-year imprisonment in a corruption case named Avenfield Apartment reference.
The sentences, delivered in absentia, against Nawaz Sharif and his daughter who is widely seen as his political heir, have dealt a blow to their Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party. Since then, rumors have been doing the rounds in Islamabad’s power corridors suggesting the duo wouldn’t come back to avoid arrest.
