New IGs appointed in Punjab, Sindh, KP

ISLAMABAD The federal government on Friday appointed new inspector generals (IGs) of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtukhwa police, Dunya News reported.

Muhammad Tahir (A Grade-21 officer) has replaced Dr Syed Kaleem Imam as Inspector General of Police Punjab. Before his appointment as IG Punjab, Muhammad Tahir has served as IG Khyber Pakhtunkhaw and on keyposts in Punjab, Islamabad and KPK.

Dr Syed Kaleem Imam (Also a Grade-21 officer), who was serving as Punjab IG, has been appointed as Sindh IG, replacing Amjad Javed Saleemi.

In KP, Salahuddin Khan Mehsud has been appointed to head the provincial police department.
