ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Thursday that Pakistan has won while the world lost the war against terrorism
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of three-day International Counter Terrorism Forum in Islamabad today.
“Pakistan paid a heavy price against terrorism. We bore economic loss whereas politician like Benazir Bhutto became a victim of the menace,” he said.
“The war against terrorism took a new turn after Army Public School incident. No country other than Pakistan has fought this war alone and with its own resources. We remained united in war against terror and adopted a national strategy,” asserted the PM.
He maintained that Pakistan is a safe country today as a result of great sacrifices.
We defeated the terrorists on our soil which is being acknowledged by the international community, he added.
“More than two lac army personnel took part in the war. The economy came back on track and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) begun in the country,” remarked the premier.
The Prime Minister pronounced that peace in Pakistan came following the sacrifices of army, political parties and public.
He said that Pakistan made remarkable progress despite the existence of challenges.
