Pakistan’s Corruption Perception Index drops to 116: NAB Chief

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday said that anti-graft watchdog is committed to make Pakistan a corruption free country.

Presiding over a meeting on Tuesday, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said that following the efforts of the anti-graft agency, national and international organizations have rated decrease in Pakistan’s Corruption Perception Index from 175 to 116.

The NAB chairman said that Pakistan is the only country whose corruption perception index is persistently on declining trend.

He said that the bureau has chalked out a comprehensive operational methodology for proceeding cases of complaint verification, inquiry and investigation.

Justice Javed Iqbal said that the NAB has apprehended various corrupt and presented them before the respective Accountability Courts as per law, adding that the bureau was committed to corruption free Pakistan and would recover looted money from corrupt persons and bring them to justice as per law.

He said that the anti-graft agency with improved infrastructure and rationalized workload, timelines has been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases.
