RAWALPINDI: In a surprise move, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to field Danial Chaudhry against Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid in general elections 2018.
As per details garnered, Danial will contest for Rawalpindi’s NA-62 constituency against Sheikh Rashid. Earlier, it was expected that Rashid will face arch rival Hanif Abbasi in the aforementioned constituency.
However, the decision has been changed as Rashid and Abbasi will lock horn for Rawalpindi’s NA-60 constituency for lower house of the parliament.
Rashid has been riding high after apex court dismissed disqualification plea against him filed by PML-N’s leader Malik Shakeel Awan who had lost the general elections 2013 against the former. Awan in his petition has accused Rashid of misdeclaring assets in the nomination forms that he had submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the general elections in 2013.
