LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif over his controvercial statement regarding Mumbai attacks infront of Lahore Press Club (LPC) and demanded action under Article 6 of the constitution.
PTI leaders Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Andleeb Abbaso, Shoaib Siddiqui, Waleed Iqbal, Sadia Sohail Rana and others led the party’s protest against former premier over his controvercial statement.
Addressing the participants of the protest, Dr Yasmeen said that on what basis the ruling PML-N was supporting Nawaz Sharif, adding that action should be taken against him under Article 6 of the constitution.
On the other hand, Shoaib Siddiqui said that a case should be lodged against the former PM, while PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif should step down from their post. “Pakistan’s sovereignty is in danger from the ruling party,” he added.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Ijaz Chaudhry said that bills were being passed in the parliament to save Nawaz Sharif.
