ISLAMABAD: A newborn boy died on Friday due to teargas shelling by police on opposition protesters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, his father says.
Speaking to Channel, father of the deceased child said that his son had expired due to teargas shelling.
“Police fired teargas shells when I was returning from prayers. As an adult, it was difficult even for me to breathe at that time,” he said.
“I rushed my baby to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival,” he said.
Reacting to the child’s death, Awami Muslim League head Sheikh Rashid said that he was sorry to hear about the death of infant.
“An FIR should be lodged against the government for the infant’s death.
