ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Information on Monday declared the coverage of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Pakistan Television (PTV) after his disqualification as advertisements.
A meeting of the Senate body was held with Committee chairman Senator Faisal Javaid in chair.
During the meeting, the Information Ministry presents report pertaining to the coverage of Nawaz Sharif.
The Committee chairman said that the report indicates that the PML-N supremo and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were given more coverage on the national TV channel, adding that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have ruined the PTV.
“The PTV has not broadcasted speeches but advertisements,” he said and added the national TV channel doesn’t even have fund to pay pensioners.
Senator Faisal Javaid also directed the Informaion Secretary to receive the expense of Nawaz and Maryam’s coverage from former minister for information and broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb.
