ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Sherry Rehman has on Thursday been formally elected as first woman Leader of Opposition in the Senate.
A notification in this regard has been issued today. Rehman was nominated by her party on March-14 for the aforementioned post. She secured 34 votes.
Rehman’s appointment is being termed as major setback to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as Azam Swati was nominated by the party for opposition leader in Senate.
