KARACHI: Despite efforts by law enforcement personnel, the son of the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, remained missing even after more than twelve hours had passed since his disappearance.   Utv Pakistan Report

According to details, police has already recorded statements of two eyewitnesses whereas the task of recovering Awais Ali Shah has been handed over to the Special Security Unit (SSU). DG Rangers also visited the supermarket and obtained details from the market administration regarding Awais’s disappearance in Karachi’s Clifton area.

Police have recorded the statements of two eyewitnesses who claimed that Awais had been forced into a white vehicle by four masked men who were armed and dressed in the traditional shalwar kameez. According to the eyewitnesses, Awais also protested against the kidnapping but to no avail.

“So far it is kidnapping, and my professional assessment is that it is not for ransom,” Allah Dino Khawaja, the police chief
in Sindh province told Reuters.

Security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media, said they suspected the kidnappers would offer to free Shah in return for the release of captured militants.

Police have claimed that they are using CCTV cameras to try and locate the car of the kidnappers. The car was seen last traveling onto the Shaheed-e-Millat road from the Baloch Colony flyover, according to the police.

Several suspicious individuals have been taken into custody as Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal has tasked the SSU to retrieve Awais Ali Shah.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah telephoned Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and reassured him that his son would soon be recovered from the kidnappers. CM Sindh also called DG Rangers and gave instructions to recover Awais as soon as possible.

According to the spokesperson of the Chief Minister House, an important meeting on the law and order of the city will also be held today at the Chief Minister House.Utv-Line
