LAHORE: Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed has on Saturday said that it is unfortunate that Ahsan Iqbal became Pakistan’s interior minister. He said that Nawaz Sharif was seeking an ‘NRO’ via Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Holding a press conference in Lahore, Sheikh Rasheed said that Nawaz Sharif’s lawyers drew millions as fees from him but failed to prove the money trail. He said that efforts were being made through Saudi Arabia and Turkey to seek reconciliation.
Responding to Ahsan Iqbal’s statement demanding Chief Justice’s notice of judges pressuring National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sheikh Rasheed said that it was a misfortune for the nation that such a person had been made interior minister.
When asked about the NA-120 election, Sheikh Rasheed said that the democracy will be strengthened if the people of Lahore got rid of their chains.
